Overall he is a very sweet boy who just wants someone to love him and spend time with him. Shilo needs a foster home commitment asap He was abandoned at a flea market, and he waited for his owners, in the same spot that they left him, for three days. Nyx's ideal home would have a securely fenced in yard, since he does have a prey drive and will chase small animals, and a companion dog.

Very food motivated and he does well taking treats by hand, he takes them softly, without taking the hand or fingers with them! Nyx does great on car rides though he does not jump much if it's a larger vehicle like a full sized truck he may need help getting up into it. His fur also is coming back healthier than before. He is still a bit underweight but is slowly putting on some healthy weight. Nyx is 100% up to date on all his shots and he has been neutered. We've been averaging around 5-8 miles a day! It does seem to take him a little bit to sit or lay down though he does great once he is on his feet walking. We are working on some other commands like look, stay, sit, etc. Speaking of walks he does VERY well on walks! No complaints there at all. He watches them but will not lunge at them or pull. Nyx is learning the "leave it" command, and hevhas gotten better with it when it comes to small animals on walks like rabbits or squirrels. He does not like to be alone, he is fine as long as his foster brother is with him. Nyx would also be good with other dogs though it may take a bit to warm up to them. I would say a home with other dogs, preferably female, and older kids or at least kids that understand dogs needing boundaries would be good fit for him. He also does well with people, and seems to like children he is a little shy around kids but if they approach him he will give them kisses. Nyx does very well with his foster brother Thor but gets on edge around strange male dogs. He might be better with female dogs, however the only ones we have had the opportunity to meet have all been male. He has gotten better on walks when meeting dogs but is still a little tense. Nyx is not good with cats at all! I also would not place him in a home with smaller toy breed dogs. Nyx can be very opportunistic when there is something tasty within reach. He has improved tremendously, but I would still not trust him alone, and unsupervised in the kitchen.
Nyx does very well as long as stuff is not left right at the edge of the counter. We are still working on counter surfing, and basic manners. He does sleep in a crate if he becomes anxious, he will destroy the flimsy wire crates. H0e is beginning to allow himself to relax and feel secure in his new surroundings.
